abstract | FIELD: food industry. n SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to high caloric compositions for infants feeding. One proposes usage of compositions containing protein, fat, digestible and indigestible carbohydrates and nucleotides for production of a high caloric composition for assistance in infants that suffer from growth retardation because of illness catching up growth. The said composition contains a protein component in an amount ensuring at least 9.5% of the total calorie content, at least 0.1 wt % of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids of the total fatty acids content, at least 0.1 wt % of indigestible carbohydrates of the dry weight of the composition and at least 1×10 -4 wt % of nucleotides of dry weight of the composition.
