titleOfInvention Diagnostic technique for degree of thyroid carcinoma
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: what is used is a fine-needle puncture aspirate biopsy of thyroid nodules. The prepared punctates are used to prepare smears, and light-microscopic immunocytochemistry is conducted, thyroglobulin expression is determined. Thereafter, atomic force microscopy is applied to determine a height of cell cytoplasm and a height of the immune complexes formed using thyroglobulin as a marker. Then, the derived data are assessed, and adequate points are assigned thereto. Manifested thyroglobulin expression is 6 points, medium expression is 4 points, weak expression is 2 points, no expression is 0 points. The height of cell cytoplasm less than 100 nm stands for 0 points, 100-200 nm - for 2 points, 200-260 nm - for 4 points, more than 260 nm - for 6 points. The height of immune complexes of 800-950 nm means 6 points, of 400-460 nm - 4 points, of 100 nm and lower - 2 points, if the height of immune complexes is zero, 0 points are assigned. Then, the points are summed, and a degree of malignancy of thyroid carcinoma is determined: 18 points means high-differentiation carcinoma, 12 points - medium-differentiation carcinoma, 6 points - low-differentiation carcinoma, 0 points - undifferentiated carcinoma. n EFFECT: method enables improving the diagnostic accuracy of thyroid carcinoma and a degree of malignancy. n 1 tbl, 1 ex
