abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for prediction of developing local forms of acute tick-borne encephalitis. The prediction is based on blood examination: patient's blood thrombocytes are examined for a serotonin level, and if the derived value is more than 150 ng/ml, an unfavourable clinical course of tick-borne encephalitis with developing nonparalytic forms is predicted; the values less than 150 ng/ml enables predicting a favourable clinical course with forming paralytic local forms. n EFFECT: higher accuracy and specificity of the conducted prediction. n 4 ex
