titleOfInvention | Diagnostic technique for vibration sickness |
abstract | FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention describes a diagnostic technique for vibration sickness involving blood serum examination wherein for the purpose of examination both blood serum, and blood plasma are used; the examination is enabled by extraction of higher fatty acids (HFA) in a methanol-ester mixture from blood serum and plasma; thereafter, the prepared HFA extract is processed by 1.5% sulphuric acid in methanol; then, the reacted methanol esters of HFA are extracted from a reaction mixture by a hexane ester mixture, and the extracted methyl esters of HFA are analysed by capillary gas chromatography, and using area normalisation method, the amount of each higher fatty acid found in blood serum or blood plasma (wt %) is determined, then total saturated fatty acids are calculated, including: lauric, tridecanoic, myristic, pentadecanoic, palmitic, margaric, stearic, arachic, heneicosanic, behenic, tricosoic acids; total polyunsaturated fatty acids of the family ?-3 such as: linoleic ?-3, eicosatrienoic ?-3, eicosapentaenoic, docosahexaenoic; total polyunsaturated fatty acids of the family ?-6, such as: linoleic, linolenic ?-6, eicosatrienoic ?-6, arachidonic acids; the derived values are used to calculate the relation (K) of total saturated fatty acids to total polyunsaturated fatty acids of the family ?-6 and the relation (K) of total saturated fatty acids to total polyunsaturated fatty acids of the family ?-3, and the value 0.90?K?1.49 and 16.0?K?28.5 enables diagnosing vibration sickness. The technique possess high accuracy (p<0.001), and it is not expensive.EFFECT: technique enables diagnosing vibration sickness both in the hospital, and outpatient environment.4 ex |
