abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: disclosed is use of tocopherol as a cocatalyst in ring-opening polymerisation of hydride-containing cyclic siloxane. Disclosed also is a method of producing hydrophilic polysiloxane polymers, where hydride-containing cyclic siloxane reacts with a hydrophilic molecule containing a carbon-carbon double bond, selected from allyl methyl ether, allyl ethyl ether, n-butyl vinyl ether and allyl cyclohexanone, in the presence of a platinum catalyst to obtain a monomer, and said monomer is polymerised in the presence of a second catalyst and tocopherol as a cocatalyst, wherein the second catalyst is selected from a group consisting of phosphazene bases and silanolates of ammonia, potassium, sodium, lithium and mixtures thereof. The invention also discloses a hydrophilic polysiloxane obtained using said method, a method of producing a hydrophilic siloxane elastomer by cross-linking said siloxane and versions of the hydrophilic siloxane elastomer. n EFFECT: improved method. n 11 cl, 4 dwg, 7 tbl, 16 ex
