abstract FIELD: process engineering. n SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises machining shell ring and face elements. Then said shell ring is assembled with face elements at expanding mandrel with detachable strap without clearance in joint. Edges are aligned by diametral stretching. Shell is subjected to strain hardening. Then, electric arc one-side welding by consumable tungsten electrode in performed in two passes in atmosphere of protective gas. Filler is fed in second pass. Note also that through penetration of edges is performed without grooving in first PASS to form preset width of seam by vibrating electrode cross wisely in second PASS. Now final machining is carried out. Note here that weld seams are subjected to high tempering for not over 8 h. Thrust thread is cut in face elements welded thereto after annealing. Strength tests are carried pout using internal hydraulic pressure while seam tightness is tested by air pressure. n EFFECT: higher manufacturability, precision, and reliability. n 2 cl, 3 dwg
