abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a fluoropolymer. The method involves polymerisation of a fluoromonomer through emulsion polymerisation in the presence of a polymerisation catalyst in an aqueous medium containing a fluorocarboxylic acid derivative. The aqueous medium has pH not higher than 4 during polymerisation. The carboxylic acid derivative contains not more than 6 carbon atoms and also contains not more than 3 ether oxygen atoms per molecule.
