titleOfInvention | Method of measuring dimensions of anisotropic suspended particles |
abstract | FIELD: physics. n SUBSTANCE: method of measuring dimensions and concentration of anisotropic suspended particles in a gap between coaxially lying inner and outer cylindrical surfaces, having different angular velocity of rotation, is based on orientation of the longitudinal axis of the particles on the tangent to the concentric circle of the movement thereof and subsequent optical measurement of the process of disorientation of (relaxation) of particles into a chaotic state while levelling angular velocities of said inner and outer surfaces. A light beam detecting relaxation of particles is directed either perpendicular to the coaxial inner and outer transparent surfaces or into the gap along these surfaces in parallel to the axis of rotation, or on the integral spiral path with multiple reflection from these surfaces. Concentration of particles is determined from the difference in intensity of light flux for the suspension of oriented or disoriented particles. n EFFECT: invention simplifies measurement and increases measurement accuracy. n 10 dwg |
