abstract | FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of producing polycarbonate resin involves a reesterification reaction between an aromatic dihydroxy compound and diphenyl carbonate and/or substituted diphenyl carbonate. The molar ratio of diphenyl carbonate and/or substituted diphenyl carbonate to the aromatic dihydroxy compound ranges from 1.01 to 1.30. The aromatic polycarbonate resin is continuously produced with viscosity-average molecular weight from 10000 to 20000 for a certain period of time. When the reaction stops, the reactor is washed with a molten mixture of an aromatic dihydroxy compound with diphenyl carbonate and/or substituted diphenyl carbonate.
