abstract | FIELD: power industry. n SUBSTANCE: there described is preparation method of bimetallic catalyst for fuel elements of MAu/C composition, where M=Pd or Pt, with content of metals of 0.2 to 40 wt %, which consists in application of gold compound from water, organic or water-organic media to carbon carrier with further hydrogen reduction at temperature of 100 to 600°C and application to the obtained Au/C matrix of compound of the second metal with further calcination; at that, catalyst containing bimetallic Au and Pd or Au and Pt particles with average size of not more than 50 nm, preferably not more than 5 nm is obtained. There also described is method with reverse sequence of metal application.
