titleOfInvention | Method of diagnosing pseudoexfoliative glaucoma at early stages of disease |
abstract | FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intendeds for diagnostics of pseudoexfoliative glaucoma (PEG) at early stages of disease. In patients with pseudoexfoliative syndrome and with marginal pressure in condition when characteristic for glaucoma complex of symptoms is absent, after tonometry preliminary statistic computer perimetry is performed. After that stress testing by means of subconjunctival injection of 0.2 ml of 10% caffeine solution is carried out. Control tonometrries are performed. Then one hour after stress testing computer perimetry is performed and light sensitivity of retina in four quadrants is estimated. In case if intraocular pressure increases by 6 mm Hg and more from the initial one in at least one of tonometries and number of scotomas increases, at least, by one, with reduction of light sensitivity of retina by 4 dB and more in, at least, one of quadrants, PEG is diagnosed. ^ EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase safety and accuracy of PEG diagnostics at early stages of disease. ^ 2 ex |
