FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel crystalline modification of an azo pigment with Colour Index 151, which is meant for pigmentation of macromolecular natural or synthetic organic materials. The invention discloses 2-[[1-[[(2,3-dihydro-2-oxo-1H-benzimidazol-5-yl)amino]carbonyl]-2-oxopropyl]azo] benzoic acid (yellow pigment with Colour Index 151) (I), characterised by value öE* (black/white) in the fundamental tone less than 22.00.7.
