abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a halogenated carbonyl group-containing compound via electrochemical reaction of the corresponding carbonyl group-containing compound with a hydrogen halide H-X, an organic halide R'-X and/or a halide salt M n+ -X n   - under substantially water-free conditions, wherein X is a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom, R' is an alkyl or aryl group which can be linear or branched, optionally containing one or more heteroatoms such as oxygen, nitrogen, chloride, bromide, fluoride or iodide from which the halogen atom X can be electrochemically split off, M n+ is a quaternary ammonium, alkali-earth metal, alkali metal or metal cation, and n is an integer ranging from 1 to 5, depending on the valence of the metal cation M n+ . n EFFECT: method does not require additional processing of by-products formed, ensures low content of poly-halogenated by-products and easy halogenation of compounds containing a carbonyl group or hydrogen. n 13 cl, 2 dwg, 9 tbl, 21 ex
