abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: method relates to medicine, namely to pediatric cardiology. In full-term newborn babies at the age of 5-6 days of life determined is level of N-terminal fragment of brain natriuretic peptide (Nt-proBNP) in peripheral blood. If Nt-proBNP value is higher than 185 fmol/ml recovery by the age of one year is predicted. n EFFECT: method is simple, makes it possible to define group of newborn babies with risk of preserving symptoms of post-hypoxic disorders of cardio-vascular system by the age of one year in order to administer them regular observation, examination and adequate therapeutic and preventive measures, which, in its turn, contributes to prevention of child's health disturbance in future, reduction of costs for medical examination and treatment and prevention of remote unfavourable consequences of cardiac pathology. n 4 ex, 1 tbl |
