FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to a radical polymerisation method for producing vinylidene chloride polymers, a polymer and a block copolymer made from vinylidene chloride obtained using said method, as well as a method of endowing the radical polymerisation process with "live" process properties. The method employs one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, at least one of which is vinylidene chloride, molecular iodine, one or more radical-generating agents selected from diazo-compounds, peroxides and dialkyldiphenylalkanes. The method involves the following steps: (1) at least a portion of each of the compounds (A), (B) and (C) is fed into a reactor, (2) contents of the reactor react, while an optional residue of each of the compounds (A), (B) and (C) is fed into the reactor, and the reaction takes place until completion. ^ EFFECT: method of producing halogenated polymers without susceptibility to chain transfer reaction to the monomer or polymer. ^ 18 cl, 7 ex, 2 tbl |
