abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing propylene from propanol starting material A2, characterised by the following steps: 1) propanol starting material A2 reacts in a vapour-phase reactor in which at temperature between 160 and 270°C and pressure higher than 0.1 MPa but lower than 4.5 MPa, propanol is converted to a stream B2 of products which contains propylene, propyl ethers, water and unconverted and/or isomerised propanols, 2) said stream B2 of products is cooled, 3) said cooled stream B2 of products is split in a splitting apparatus to obtain a first stream C2 which contains propylene and propyl ethers and a second stream D2 of products, which contains water, propyl ethers and unconverted and/or isomerised propanols, 4) said stream D2 of products is fed into a dehydration apparatus in which an aqueous stream F2 is extracted from the stream E2 of propanol ethers and unconverted and/or isomerised propanols, 5) said stream E2 is returned to dehydration reactor of step 1, 6) said stream C2 of products is cooled, and 7) said cooled stream C2 of products is fed into a purification apparatus in which a stream G2 of propyl ethers is separated from the stream H2 of propylene.
