titleOfInvention | Method of electrochemical lysis and surgical removal of intraocular new growths |
abstract | FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, and can be used in ophthalmology and ophthalmo-oncology for electrochemical destruction of intraocular new growths. Electrochemical lysis is enabled with using two platinum electrodes; one electrode in the form of a mesh with a circle centre hole and shaped as a projection of a tumour base on sclera is applied on the scleral bed, while the other electrode, a needle one, is inserted into the tumour perpendicularly to sclera through a liquid container fixed in the mesh hole so that an active part of the needle electrode making 1.0-2.0 mm is spaced 1.0 mm from the apex of the tumour; ECL is followed with the removal of the necrotising tumour. ^ EFFECT: invention provides electrolytic tumour destruction at large and complete removal, the absence of remote postoperative relapses and metastases. ^ 2 cl |
