abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and may be used in neuropathology to evaluate level of brain metabolism. Temperature of head surface is measured by infrared thermometre in frontal and temporal regions. Measurements are carried out in central frontal point located along middle line of forehead by 4.5-5.5 cm over level of internal corner of eye; in superciliary point located by 3-3.5 cm higher than internal corner of eye; and in temporal point located by 5-6 cm higher than external acoustic meatus. Average temperature is identified, and produced results of measurement are compared to ranges of norm and pathology that have been previously produced when researching levels of brain metabolism in the same points. Brain metabolism is evaluated as low, if average temperature is less than 33°C. n EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase efficiency of brain metabolism level assessment, to simplify and cheapen procedure of diagnostics. n 1 tbl, 1 dwg
