abstract FIELD: means of protection. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire extinguishing. Substance of method consists in the fact that flame-arresting aqueous solution of potassium salt is supplied into heat source in the form of volume aerosol flow with range of particle size equal to 5-80 micrometre, besides intensity of supply is at least 0.02 l/m 2 *s. Flame-arresting solution used is represented by 5-46% aqueous solution of ferricyanic potassium (potassium ferricyanide) or 5-25% aqueous solution of ferrocyanide potassium (potassium ferrocyanide). n EFFECT: proposed mode of flame-arresting solution supply makes it possible to efficiently extinguish fires of various degree of complexity, also with large specific surface of burning, with rational consumption of flame arrester. n 3 cl
