abstract | FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making glass, ceramics, refractory materials, pigments and paints, different construction materials, display screens, monitors and television sets and various devices. The bactericidal oxide coating contains magnesium and/or calcium and/or zinc oxides in total amount of not less than 40 mol % of the total amount of the composition. Binder makes up the rest in form of oxides of the following metals: silicon, iron, titanium, lanthanum. The coating consists of nanoparticles with particle size smaller than 100 nm. An acidic film-forming solution with pH not more than 7 is prepared. A film is deposited on the surface of a solid inorganic material. The coated material is dried.
