| abstract | FIELD: metallurgy. n SUBSTANCE: invention can be implemented for production of chemically pure zinc out of zinc scale - one of two basic wastes of metal production galvanisation - and for successive return of zinc into main process production. The method consists in loading zinc scale into a working chamber and in heating and melting zinc scale in medium of inert gas at working chamber temperature 430-450°C during 1.4-1.6 h; also exhaust combustion products are thinned with secondary air, and their withdrawal is adjusted with draught; the method further consists in casting zinc into moulds. The method is carried out at the installation for extraction of zinc out of zinc scale; the installation consists of a case with a removable dome, of a heater, and of a working chamber with a removable cover, also the chamber is slantwise installed in the case with thermo-insulated walls and the removable dome and is designed to rotate from a drive; the removable dome additionally contains a smoke stack wherein nozzles of secondary air and a facility for control of draught are installed; the removable cover of the working chamber is equipped with thermo-couple and with tubes for supply of protective gas. n EFFECT: upgraded purity of zinc melted from the zinc scale, increased efficiency of installation, reduced power cost and provision of technical and ecological safety of installation operation. n 4 cl, 2 dwg |
