abstract FIELD: chemistry, biochemistry. n SUBSTANCE: analysed sampled probiotic is introduced to the medium containing: L-asparagine 0.4 g, twice-substituted potassium phosphate 0.05 g, magnesium sulphate 0.05 g, citric acid 0.2 g, ammoniacal ferric citrate 0.005 g, sodium pyruvate 0.05 g, glycerine 4.0 g, agar 3.0 g, humivit 10 ml, aqueous solution of vitellus (1:1) 10.0 ml and distilled water to 100.0 ml in amount 16-32% of medium volume. Then test tubes are heated up in boiling-water bath during 5 min with slanting the medium. Indicator strain culture is seeded on slant surface and cultivated. Antagonistic activity is estimated by ratio of indicator strain colony number grown on the medium with adding casein broth in amount 20%, to indicator strain colony number grown on the medium after probiotic is added and heated up. n EFFECT: improved efficiency of direct antagonism method. n 3 tbl, 3 ex
