abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to methods of protecting hydrocarbon fuel from microbiological effects and biocidal additives used for this purpose. The invention can be used in the oil-, gas-pumping industry, machine building and aviation technology. Description is given of method of protecting hydrocarbon fuel from microbiological effects by adding a biocidal additive to the fuel, containing, in wt %: 1-(2'-aminoethyl)-2-alkyl-2-imidazoline 5.0-7.0; 1-(2'-alkylamidoethyl)-2-alkyl-2-imidazoline 3.0-5.0; ethyl cellosolve constitutes the rest, in quantity of 0.002-0.005 wt %. n EFFECT: high efficiency of suppressing growth of microbes in hydrocarbon fuel and retention of physical-chemical and operational properties of the fuel during prolonged storage. n 3 cl, 3 tbl, 4 ex
