titleOfInvention | Rapid method of controlling quality of drinking water |
abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to methods of checking the quality of drinking water and can be used for determining integral content of pollutants in drinking water among others. The rapid method is achieved through reaction with a chemical reagent. The chemical reagent used is a 1.5% alcoholic solution of quinhydrone. The reaction takes place in a boiling water bath for 3 minutes, after which the coloured sample is cooled and colourimetry is carried out at 490 or 495 nm. n EFFECT: increased sensitivity; simplification; faster and cheap analysis. n 5 ex |
