titleOfInvention Modified heat treatment of heavy hydrocarbons
abstract FIELD: petroleum processing. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to accelerated heat treatment of viscous petroleum stock and, more specifically, to a process for reducing hydrogen sulfide level in one or more gas component of product stream obtained from initial heavy hydrocarbons and to a process for enriching initial heavy hydrocarbons, which processes involve interaction of said hydrocarbons with heat carrier in the form of particles within ascending-stream reactor at 450 to 600°C for at least 5 sec, ratio of said heat carrier to said hydrocarbons ranging from 10:1 to 200:1. Heat carrier particles are then regenerated in heater to form regenerated heat carrier particles, which are recycled to reactor. According to invention, accelerated heat treatment of initial heavy hydrocarbons is conducted in presence of calcium compound and/or regeneration of heat carrier particles in heater is conducted in presence of calcium compound. Amount of calcium compound added represents from about 0.2 to about 5 times stoichiometric amount of sulfur in initial feedstock or coke entering heater. Use of invention results in reduced emission of So x into flue gas, reduced total acid number both for heavy hydrocarbons and for liquid products obtained therefrom, reduced amount of hydrogen sulfide in one or more gas component of product in heavy hydrocarbon enrichment stage, and maximized yield of liquid product due to minimized formation of coke and gases. Liquid product is mainly enriched because of essentially reduced viscosity, increased API gravity, and content of middle and light distillate fractions, which makes liquid product transportable without use of diluents. n EFFECT: reduced viscosity of petroleum stock to render it suitable for transportation without of diluents. n 46 cl, 8 dwg, 28 tbl, 9 ex
