Invention concerns polyphenylenes of the following general formula: wherein n means degree of polymerization from 5 to 20; m = 1, 2; q = 1, 2; Ar means arylene group, carboxynaphthyl group, naphthylimide, naphthyl, anthracene groups, heterocyclic group and among them pyridyl and bis-pyridyl groups.
