abstract | FIELD: metallurgy, namely production of strip of magnesium alloy by continuous two-roll casting. n SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of supplying melt metal alloy from its source to apparatus from which alloy through nozzle is fed chamber restricted by nozzle outlet and rolls; at rotation of rolls arranged with gap one relative to other cooling alloy due to flowing of cooling liquid through each roll. Alloy solidifies in said chamber before it passes through gap between rolls and leaves said gap in the form of hot rolled strip. In source of melt alloy temperature of alloy is kept sufficient for holding alloy in feeding apparatus at overheating temperature. Level of melt alloy in feeding apparatus is sustained at height 5 - 22 mm over central line of gap. Strip leaving inter-roll gap has its surface temperature less than 400°C. n EFFECT: possibility for producing strip of magnesium alloy without cracking. n 27 cl, 12 dwg |
