abstract FIELD: compositions for manufacture of oxygen-releasing starter briquette which may be used in individual means for protecting of respiratory organs, such as miner's self-contained self-rescuers and respirators. n SUBSTANCE: starter briquette for self-contained breathing apparatus has starter part having composition including, wt%: aluminum hydroxide 20-30, aluminum powder 4.0-7.0, amorphous boron 0.3-0.6, chrysotile 4.0-7.0, sodium superoxide the balance, with total weight of 1.5-2.5 g; transition part including, wt%: sodium superoxide 40-50, aluminum powder 0.5-2.0, chrysotile 1.0-3.0, magnesium perchlorate the balance, total weight of 0.6-1.2 g; and basic part having composition including 45-55 wt% of sodium superoxide and balance amount of magnesium perchlorate. n EFFECT: increased specific yield of oxygen from unit of weight and volume, and enhanced reliability in starting of briquette at low temperatures. n 2 tbl
