abstract | FIELD: extraction of molybdenum from molybdenite concentrate. n SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes forming aqueous suspension of molybdenite concentrate, heating this suspension to temperature of about 200C, mixing the suspension at contact with atmosphere containing free oxygen, oxidizing the suspension in this atmosphere at excessive pressure of oxygen 3,4 bar as minimum (50 pound/inch 2 ), determination of amount of soluble molybdenum at oxidation of molybdenite concentrate under pressure, control of concentration of ferric iron ions and concentration of excessive sulfuric acid by recirculation of portion of leached-out suspension and/or by addition of sulfuric acid to aqueous suspension, obtaining leached-out suspension at 99% of molybdenum concentrate oxidized.
