FIELD: polymer fibers. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of producing high-quality polyester fibers with modified section characterized by satisfactory color tone and excellent moldability and suitable for textile industry. Polyester fibers characterized by deformed section are prepared from polyester polymer. Polymer is prepared via polycondensation of aromatic dicarboxylic acid ester in presence of catalyst comprising mixture of titanium compound-based component and phosphorus compound-based component. The former includes at least one titanium alkoxide or product of reaction between this alkoxide and specific carboxylic acid or its anhydride.
