titleOfInvention | Method and installation for thermal recovery of radioactive ion-exchange resins |
abstract | FIELD: recovery of radioactive wastes. n SUBSTANCE: proposed method for thermal recovery of radioactive ion-exchange resins includes mixing of wet radioactive ion-exchange resins with powdered metallized fuel in mixing region. Mixture obtained is fed to thermal decomposition region, and air functioning as oxidant is passed through mixture. Thermal-electric reaction is initiated by burning this mixture, gases released from slag formed in the process are separated and conveyed to cleaning region affording coarse and fine filtration. Slag is transferred to additional oxidation region. Proposed installation for thermal recovery of radioactive ion-exchange resins has oven in the form of thermochemical reactor incorporating encased shell assembled of funnel-shaped rings installed in a spaced relation to each other, cover with catch-controlled blow-off port, and hinged lattice bottom. n EFFECT: enhanced reliability of recovery process and safety in operation. n 5 cl, 4 dwg |
