abstract FIELD: thermal treatment; methods of the thermal treatment of the forming rollers. n SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the thermal treatment, in particular, to production processes of the surface hardening of the forming rollers. The method provides for the treatment of forming roller surface with the plasma jet with usage in the capacity of the plasma-forming gas - argon at its consumption of 1.1-1.6 m 3 /h, with the power density of (85-125)ยท10 6 W/m 2 with the conveying speed of 35-53 mm/s, and as the shielding gas they use nitrogen at its consumption of 3.5-3.8 m 3 /h. Utilization of the presented method allows using the plasma hardening of the surface layer of the forming rollers to increase their thermal resistance in 1.5-2 times, to produce the hardened surface layer with the high hardness, optimum structure and depth. n EFFECT: the invention presented method allows using the plasma hardening of the surface layer of the forming rollers to increase their thermal resistance up to 2 times, to produce the hardened surface layer with the high hardness, optimum structure and depth. n 1 tbl
