titleOfInvention Method for performing superior blepharoplastic operation
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: method involves marking incision lines on skin. The lower one is traced as an arc passing along tarsal fold with turns upward at blunt angles near the internal and external eye angles. The upper one is drawn along the boundary of overhanging skin fold. Incision is drawn along the marked Skin excesses are exfoliated and cut off. Crescent segment of round eye muscle is excised above the tarsal ligament allover the access line. Next, tarso-orbital fascia is cut and fat hernias are removed. Two vertical notches are done on the round eye muscle along the upper wound boundary above the turn places of the inferior incision line. Parallelogram-shaped muscle portion is excised near the external wound boundary. Internal suture is placed on superficial subcutaneous eyelid fascia and levator aponeurosis for forming tarsal fold. Sutures are placed on wound edges. n EFFECT: improved esthetic and functional results; reduced risk of complications like cicatricial deformities and epicanthuses. n 4 cl, 4 dwg
