Process for out-of-furnace carbon treatment of steel |
abstract |
FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely out-of-furnace treatment of metallurgical melts with powdered reagents. n SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of adding powdered carbon-containing materials into ladle for two stages; at first stage adding 55 - 85% of carbon at discharging melt metal till filling ladle; at second stage introducing 15 - 45% of carbon into filled ladle in the form of powder wire in steel envelope before modifying steel. Mass rate of carbon adding to melt metal is in range 350 - 550g/s. At first stage it is possible to use carbon in the form of its alloy with silicon at relation of carbon to silicon 0.43 - 0.71. Powder wire contains next relation of ingredients, mass %: carbon-containing material, 44 - 54; steel envelope, 46 - 56. n EFFECT: increased degree of carbon assimilation. n 3 cl |
