titleOfInvention Method of production of potassium nitrate
abstract FIELD: chemical industry; methods of production of potassium nitrate. n SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of chemical industry, in particular, to methods of production of potassium nitrate and by-products on the basis of calcium chloride. The method provides, that solution of calcium nitrate extracted from nitrate drawing is neutralized up to pH 4-8, the sediment is separated from admixtures, and concentration of calcium nitrite in the cleared solution keep within the limits of 38-45 mass %. Neutralization of solution of calcium nitrate can be conducted using calcium carbonate or in succession - first - using calcium carbonate and then - using a water suspension of calcium hydroxide. The produced solution of calcium nitrate is treated with engineering potassium chloride in conditions of excess of calcium nitrate in respect to stoichiometry, preferably, at the temperature of 30°÷ 60°C during 40 ÷ 60 minutes at a molar ratio of calcium nitrate to potassium chloride - within the limits of 1.05 ÷ 1.2 : 2. Products of treatment are cooled at the temperature within the limits from 0 up to minus 10°C, the sediment is separated and flushed with a saturated solution of potassium nitrate. Produce potassium nitrate with contents of the main substance of 99.2 ÷ 99.8 %. The technical result is increased production of potassium nitrate up to 84-90 %. n EFFECT: the invention ensures increased production of potassium nitrate up to 84-90 %. n 5 cl, 4 ex
