titleOfInvention Multisection traveling-wave tube (alternatives)
abstract FIELD: electronic engineering; high-power broadband microwave devices such as traveling-wave tubes and their hybrids. n SUBSTANCE: nonmagnetic inserts of traveling-wave tube placed between ferromagnetic disks of resonator chain are made in the form of drift diaphragms and azimuthal communication slits; diaphragm slits are turned through π radians with respect to ferromagnetic-disk slits; ferromagnetic disk installed between output section and adjacent one has drift tube on axis; nonmagnetic insert between this disk and ferromagnetic disk of output-section resonator chain is made in the form of ring accommodating circular absorbers soldered therein; inner diameter of absorbers d a.in is made in the range of d s.in ≥ d a.in ≥ d t.out , where d s.in is inner diameter of slit; d t.out is outer diameter of drift tube, and height h a is blunt relative to that of ring h r within the range of 0.35 d t.out ≥ h a / h r ≥ 0.15, except for communication line on end of circular absorbers; installed on ferromagnetic-disk drift tubes of one or two output-section resonators next to absorbing ones are nonmagnetic conducting circular components whose inner diameter equals drift-tube diameter; angle β between centers of azimuthal communication slits in ferromagnetic disk of chain of coupled resonators abutting against ring and in diaphragm next to disk is set within the range of α ≥ β ≥ 2π - α, where α is opening angle of azimuthal communication line. Traveling-wave tube of second design alternate has one or two nonmagnetic conducting components additionally installed on surface of output-section ferromagnetic disk at side opposing that abutting against ring. Third and fourth design alternates are distinguished by introduction of absorbing material layers applied to surfaces of one or two ferromagnetic disks next to ferromagnetic disk whose drift tube mounts nonmagnetic circular component. n EFFECT: enhanced power of device and load absorption at ends of its sections; improved matching and enhanced electric strength. n 5 cl, 4 dwg
