titleOfInvention Method of making clear glass and colored iron-containing glass from broken glass
abstract FIELD: making clear glass and colored glass from broken glass. n SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes crushing and grinding of broken glass for obtaining two different fractions: coarse fraction at sizes of 15x15 mm to 75x75 mm and fine fraction with glass grains having sizes of from 0.05 to 5 mm; fractions are mixed and loaded in furnace. Fine fraction is preliminarily wetted with water from 0.5 to 16 mass-% of total mass of charge. Amount of coarse fraction is 60-95% and fine fraction 40-5%. Correcting and modifying additives of dyes are smoothly introduced in fine fraction. Proposed method makes it possible to obtain high-quality glass mass for forming glass in production of sheet glass and glass containers. n EFFECT: increased productivity of glass-making furnaces; wide utilization of waste clear glass and colored glass. n 2 cl, 2 ex
