titleOfInvention Method for delivering drugs to given area of eyeball in carrying out intravitreal interventions on account of ablatio retinae complicated with proliferative vitreoretinopathy
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out subtotal vitrectomy, vitreal cavity tamponade with perfluororganic substance, silicon or gas mixture. Hydrophilic flexible polymer implant is additionally introduced having 60-85% water content into the vitreal cavity of 3 to 5 mm length saturated with drug to be introduced and enclosed into hydrophobic envelope having openings on its end. Then, the hydrophilic implant with the envelope is removed 1-2 weeks later. The implant is impregnated with 0.5% of 5-fluoruracyl solution. The hydrophilic implant is impregnated with Rubomicin solution. n EFFECT: enabled constant drug concentration in the vitreal cavity; enhanced effectiveness of treatment. n 3 cl
