titleOfInvention | Method of producing carboxylic acids via carbonylation on palladium |
abstract | FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. n SUBSTANCE: saturated or β,γ-unsaturated carboxylic acids are obtained by carboxylation of compounds having ethylenic or acetylenic bond conjugated with another unsaturated bond or electronodonor group via their reaction with carbon monoxide and water in presence of palladium-based catalyst. On completion of carboxylation reaction, carbon monoxide is removed from reaction mixture by treating the latter with gas to attain CO concentration below 600 ml in 1 L solution. Once carboxylation is ended, reaction mixture is treated with hydrogen to reduced Pd(II) into metallic Pd, which separated from reaction mixture as precipitate. Advantageously, following compounds are carboxylated: diolefins, allyl alcohols, allyl ethers or esters with conjugated unsaturated bond. In particular, reaction of butadiene results in production of pentene acids. n EFFECT: prolonged catalyst lifetime due to enabled regeneration and reuse thereof. n 14 cl, 10 ex |
