FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for oxidation of hydrocarbons in the presence of mixture of hydrogen and oxygen on catalysts comprising 0.5-10 wt.-% of silver, titanium-containing carrier being catalyst comprises: a) titanium-containing carrier, such as titanyl hydrate, titanium dioxide or mixed silicon and titanium oxides, or mixed silicon, aluminum and titanium oxides; b) silver particles of particles size from 0.3 to 100 nm. Also, invention relates to the indicated catalyst. This method is used in industry for preparing, for example, ethylene and propylene oxides.
