abstract FIELD: chemical and mining industry, construction materials and other branches of industry, in particular, washing out and classification of mixtures of solid materials having different sizes, densities and compositions. n SUBSTANCE: method involves separating mixture of solid materials in ascending gas-liquid flow in classification mode; providing discharge of gas through upper part of classifier; washing solid material mixture with working fluid conveyed in apparatus along closed circuit in circulation mode; discharging gas from working fluid circulating through apparatus at classifier and circulation pipe disconnection sites. Air is used as gas. Washing and/or disinfecting liquids are used as working fluids. Apparatuses have vertical tubular classifier and circulation pipe, which are communicated with one another. Classifier has readily detachable flexible arced sieving members arranged on its inner side. Classifier has rotating upper part for supplying liquid with light and small-sized fraction onto circulation pipe sieves. According to second version, sieves and/or collectors-settlers are positioned at tubular classifier and circulation pipe disconnection site at circulating liquid flow path, said sieves and/or collectors-settlers are equipped with overflow members. n EFFECT: improved quality of classification of solid material mixtures, wider range of shapes, sizes, densities and moisture content values, including materials aggregated into lumps. n 6 cl, 2 dwg, 2 ex
