FIELD: papermaking. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rheology modifiers intended attaining thickening effect and controlling outflow and retention of water as well as other properties of aqueous systems. Application describes aqueous compositions showing improved rheological properties preferably including those with improved flow stress, improved viscosity, and improved moisture retention capacity. Such compositions include low-viscosity compositions showing high flow stress. Compositions according to present invention are aqueous compositions of polymer possessing common ionic charge and viscosity-promoting additive possessing opposite common ionic charge.
