abstract FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: the cell strain doesn't express tumor markers but it expresses metabolic markers that are specific for human non- immortalized epithelium cells and markers for metabolic differentiation that are specific for nonimmortalized human large intestine epithelial cells. This cell strain is able to attach the strain CNCM-1225 of lactic acid microorganism in vitro. Serum-free cultural medium comprises trace elements, vitamins (vitamin C and retinoic acid), hormones (triiodothyronine, dexamethasone, hydrocortisone, bovine hypophysis extract, insulin, epidermal growth factor) and transferrin. Immortalization of human large intestine epithelial cells is carried out by preparing culture of primary epithelial cells isolated from human large intestine followed by infection with recombinant virus. Invention provides the identification of mutagenic, toxic or favorable effect of agent on metabolism of intestine tract cells.
