abstract FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous preparing acetic acid by feeding methanol and/or its reactive derivative and carbon monoxide in reactor for carbonylation reaction. Liquid reaction mixture in reactor comprises methyl acetate, water, precious metal of VIII group as catalyst of carbonylation, hydrocarbylhalide co-catalyst, at least one optional promoter and acetic acid. In carrying out the process the concentration of methyl acetate in liquid reaction mixture is maintained at required level by control of ratio value between methanol and/or its reactive derivative and carbon monoxide that are converted to acetic acid. Except for, according to the obtained results method involves regulation of the rate of feeding methanol and/or its reaction derivative by so manner to maintain the concentration of methyl acetate at the required level. Method provides reducing amount of methyl acetate accumulating in reactor and increasing time for catalyst working. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 10 cl, 1 dwg _
