titleOfInvention | Device for separation of iodine from ground and its concentration in preset volume |
abstract | FIELD: search and analysis of ground by specific methods. SUBSTANCE: ground is placed on bottom of open sleeve located in electric furnace and in gas duct mounted vertically in this sleeve at spaced relation. In gas duct ground is covered with kaolin fiber coated in its turn with layer of annealed aerosol. Impact mechanism is secured on side of gas duct. Located on end face of said impact mechanism are cutoff aerosol filter and filter medium closed with heat-insulating cover through which air is evacuated. As a result, new portions of air admitted from atmosphere to electric furnace get heated passing through ground and entrapping aerosol applied on fiber together with separated iodine. Part of aerosol together with partially sorbed iodine settles on walls of gas duct excluding sorption of iodine on them. Impact member periodically shakes off aerosol accumulating on walls. Aerosol falls and is annealed freeing iodine. As a result, iodine together with gas flow passes through cutoff aerosol filter and gets fixed on sorption filter medium; waste air is evacuated to atmosphere by means of pump. Proposed device ensures effective extraction of iodine from ground in samples having mass up to 1.5 kg and more; device is more efficient as compared with known devices working on mass and spectrum and neutron activation methods of analysis of ground containing iodine-129 and iodine-127. EFFECT: low cost; enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg |
