SUBSTANCE: invention relates to substances for coatings with biocyde properties, largely for use in paintwork materials, which can be employed in construction, medicine, and in a variety of other areas. Composition comprising binding agent in the form of paintwork material designed to be applied on material to be protected and biocyde additive is characterized by that said biocyde additive is silver-containing organic compound essentially not forming free silver ions in composition, having dissociation constant 10 -2 and taken in amounts 10 -1 -10 -12 based on the weight of silver.
