FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has body having elastic material. Stent body is cylindrical in unstressed state. The stent body is at least partially coated with envelope hindering the stent tendency to expand to a diameter corresponding to cylindrical shape of the stent in free state. Metal coating on stent body represents the envelope in one embodiment of the invention. Tube or plurality of tubes wrapped around the stent body represents the envelope in another embodiment of the invention. Method for unrolling stents in tubular organs, blood vessels and other cavities is shown. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in opening stenosed blood vessel lumen. 13 cl, 4 dwg |
