abstract FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods making it possible to find vehicle which has been stolen or hijacked. According to proposed method, marking device placed on vehicle contains substance whose application, removal, displacement or changing of state leads to change of external appearance of vehicle. These changes appear only when attempt is made to hijack the vehicle. So provision of marking indicates that vehicle has been hijacked. There is no necessity to stop the vehicle for this purpose.
