abstract | FIELD: purification of underground and surface waters by filtering. SUBSTANCE: method includes aeration of a part of initial water and its supply to filtering layer below upper surface of filter grainy medium. Nonaerated part of initial water is supplied directly to upper layer of filter grainy medium. During filter regeneration, a part of initial water is supplied to filter medium from below upward, and the other part, to below upper surface of filter medium. Device for method embodiment has filter with grainy medium and perforated collector with plates located at angle to horizon and forming wedge-shaped cavities opened from bottom and plunged from atop into grainy medium.
