abstract FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method for preparing 2-(n-propyl)alk-3-en-2-one's of the general formula: CH 3 C(O)C(C 3 H 7 )=CHR where R means n-C 6 H 13 , n-C 8 H 17 by interaction of compound RCH=C=CH 2 with AlEt 3 in their mole ratio = 10 : (10-14) in the presence of Cp 2 ZrCl 2 as catalyst taken in the amount 2-6 mole% to the parent allene, in argon atmosphere, at the room temperature, under normal pressure, in methylene chloride medium for 5 h followed by addition of acetonitrile (CH 3 C≡N)) to reactive mass taken in 3-fold excess to triethylaluminium, stirring at temperature 40 C for 4-8 h and the following acid hydrolysis of reactive mass.
